pH Reducer (pH Minus)

pH Minus is used to reduce the pH of spa, swimspa and pool water. It is also know and dry acid.

The active pH range for hot tub water should between 7.0 and 7.6 with the closer to 7.0 being the ideal.  In general, pH is the measure of acidity or basicity of the water and pH is measured on a logarithmic scale from 0 to 14. Values below 7 are acidic and above 7 are basic. Between 7.0 – 7.2 is a comfortable value for the human body and suitable for most sanitisers to be effective.

Chlorine is more active at a lower pH, so the nearer to pH 7.0 the better.  If the pH is allowed to rise towards pH 8.0, then approximately three times as much Chlorine is needed to provide the same “killing power”.
